Stage 2 Junior Girls Cricket format

Summary and experience level | May have played Junior cricket previously. We welcome girls who have not played cricket before. Participants should try to bowl with a straight arm over 18 metres. |

When | Saturday mornings |
Players | approx 9-11 per side, 7 on the field at one time, players sub off and on every over. |
Format |
20 over format (T20) Batting in pairs, everybody gets a go at bowling, rotated fielding positions and fielders can go on and off the field if the team has more than the maximum number of players. Approximately 12-20 balls faced per batter, depending on team numbers. Scores are recorded but are not important. |
Ball | 142g leather or "platy" ball |
What's provided? |
KPCC will provide a kit with equipment such as spare helmets, gloves, pads, bats. Players are welcome to provide their own equipment. |
Safety | Helmet and Gloves are compulsory. Please purchase an abdominal guard. |
Parent/Guardian involvement | Parents & Guardians are encouraged to be involved in matches via scoring, umpiring, on-field helper or helping girls with equipment. |

Equipment
The club will provide a kit containing helmets, thigh pads and gloves. Players are welcome to provide their own equipment and this is encouraged from a health and safety perspective.

Helmets are compulsory.
Volunteers needed
Our Girls Only cricket program is made available to girls who wish to play cricket with and against other girls.
The successes of our Girls teams and Girls Cricket Blast programs are founded on the club's ability to organise teams and run skills-based sessions.
